Hello, my name is Hannah.
My obsession has been building self care and self love through hair since about 1999, unfortunately I was not able to get legally trained in the field until after high school .Although I avoided becoming a hair stylist at first, it was inevitable that we belonged together. I am a west coast native so I attended Santa Monica College to begin my AA in Psychology. Soon after realizing my happiness would only truly be fulfilled in my craft, I dropped my AA and pursued my Cosmetology License in 2008. And so it began…
Why Hair?
My upbringing was a world of constant change. My hair was how I vocalized my creativity, my emotions and my stance on life. I used my hair to change my attitude when it was needing an adjustment. And I STILL do to this day. After a trauma or a pivotal life experience, growth occurs. As we evolve our hair is a large signifier of change. This is why I do what I do.
LA was a great starter for me but I craved a deep dive and a faster pace. I moved myself to NYC to pursue all the options possible.
NYC took my passion for hair and all it’s possible routes of training and dunked me head first. I became an educator, took master color and cutting courses (still do). Dabbled in editorial photo shoots in media. Finding my niche in what I would do best .
How I got here …
A few years in and one random day at the salon later , a man walked in and sat in my chair. We intrigued each other after his first hair cut appointment. So we moved in together 5 months later. We got married 3 years later and soon after we moved here to Cincinnati in 2014 to grow our own little tribe.
It is here , in the heart of Cincinnati that I grew Luna & Sol Hair. This is where I get to continue to learn everyday how to elevate your experience. How to level up beauty, self care , a safe haven and relaxation to my guests in world full of chaos.
